Gold Medalist Recreational Program
Spring Session: March 7th - May 21, 2011
Our Gold Medalist Recreational Program develops increased physical activity, strength, flexibility, and coordination. The goal of our recreational program is to help your child become a happier, healthier and more athletic individual in a safe and fun environment. Our curriculum includes monthly themes, creative lesson plans and skill development. Girls may progress through our recreational program and advance to put Competitive Team. Our boys program is based on gymnastics related fitness to enhance the physical attributes necessary for other sports. Boys may progress through our recreational program and advance towards our Power Tumbling program. Our program strives to build self-confidence through the learning process. IT IS PROVEN THAT CHILDREN WHO ARE CHALLENGED ATHLETICALLY DEVELOP THE "I CAN DO IT" ATTITUDE! Each session will include a Gymstar "Show Off" week where each child will receive a medal! Family & friends are encouraged to attend. Bring your Cameras!
Classes:
Level 1 Bronze Stars
Bonze stars is a 1 hour beginner class. We introduce students to body positions and the very basics of gymnastics on all 4 Olympic events and trampoline. We work forward and backward rolls, learn cartwheels, handstands, basic beam bnalances and walks, and basic trampoline jumps and rolls.
Level 2/3- Stars
Stars is a 1 1/2 hour intermediate level class. Here we move things up a notch, while still emphasizing existing good body position and form. Main skills at this level are handstands, front rolls, back bend kick overs, and round-offs, pullovers, and back hip circles on bars, proper vaulting technique with dive rolls onto mats, rolls, jumps on trampoline. Strength and flexibility drills are also emphasized at this level.
